DIX/DEX import/export tool
The advanced import/export tools for EMC | Documentum, based on XML, are tools for transferring digital (meta)data into or outside Documentum versions 4i and 5.
The tools are extremely useful for importing data and content from various environments like file systems, archive systems, raw data generating systems etc. into Documentum.
Administrators, developers and system integrators can perform a controlled dump and load of documents in DocBases by using the Documentum Dump Export tool in combination with the generic DIX import tool.
DIX – import tool (Java version)
This 100% pure Java version of the generic import tool is platform independent and able to import ACLs, ACL templates, alias sets, users, groups, type definitions, cabinets, folders, documents, methods, jobs, procedures and lifecycles. It is transaction based, parses large XML files using SAX2 technology and has scheduling functionality for starting, stopping and restarting the import process at any time.
DEX – export tool
This is a freeware export tool that runs on the WINDOWS platform and generates XML compliant data files for the generic DIX import tool. Its graphical user interface offers advanced metadata retrieval and mapping possibilities. Documents on file systems and corresponding metadata can be easily imported into Documentum.
